How Accurate is a breathalyser ?

The old adage of you get what you pay for basically holds true with any breathalyser unit. We do not stock novelty type breathalysers, we rigorously ensure that the quoted manufacturers accuracy levels are realistically achieved in real life. The entry level AL2500 Elite X Breathalyser will achieve an accuracy level of approx +/- 30% with a steady improvement as the price increases through +/- 10% to Police Grade Accuracy of +/- 5%.

Please remember that any breathalyser should only be used as a guide to the likely level of alcohol in your bloodstream and even the Drager Police issue breathalyser units are not sufficiently accurate to be used as the basis for a prosecution. You would be initially roadside screened on a Drager unit (or similar) followed by a desk top Intoxiliser machine at the Police station which is admissible in court.
